  for the IUCN SSC Conservation Planning Specialist Group\,
  and for WCS - Wildlife Conservation Services
 \n\nThis lecture will explore the current state of rhino conservation\,
  highlighting the major threats facing both African rhino species\,
  including poaching\, habitat loss\, and human–wildlife conflict.
  It will discuss the role of science\, veterinary medicine\,
  protected area management\, and community engagement in safeguarding
  remaining populations. Drawing on practical field experience\,
  the lecture will examine how monitoring\, translocations\,
  health management\, and collaborative conservation strategies
  contribute to rhino recovery. The session will also consider emerging
  challenges and future opportunities for ensuring the long-term
  survival of one of the world's most iconic and threatened large mammals.
