 \n\nForensic science involves the applied use of biology\, chemistry\,
  engineering\, physics\, mathematics\, materials sciences and many more.
  Forensic scientists have to apply their expertise at the crime scene\,
  in the analysis of samples in the laboratory and in explaining the
  meaning of their findings in the courtroom. The dynamic interplay
  across disciplinary boundaries is critical to the delivery of a
  holistic science based offering in support of fair justice. But there
  are cracks in the system\, challenges in interpretation and evaluation
  of forensic science evidence and concerns raised of the communication
  and value of scientific outcomes as AI begins to encroach on both the
  generation of scientific data and its explainability.
