 \n\nMedical imaging is typically considered a high-tech\, scientific
 discipline\, but is also heavily reliant on artistic conventions and
 techniques dating back hundreds or thousands of years. The
 interpretation of such images is also more subjective than might be
 supposed\, influenced by idiosyncrasies of the human visual system and
 psychology. This lecture will examine art and movies from pre-history
 to PIXAR to help understand the history of radiology and where medical
 imaging may be headed in the era of AI.
