7th Meeting of the 179th Session (1999-2000)
At the Royal Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh
on Friday 7th April 2000 at 7pm
The question of whether we are alone in the Solar System, galaxy or universe, is one which has fascinated humanity since the earliest of times. As a starting point to the search for life beyond the Earth, we can examine how and where life arose on Earth, and the types of conditions in which life survives. If similar environments exist on other planets, now or in the past, then perhaps we are not alone.
