Charter of Incorporation

The Royal Charter of 1841 incorporating "The Royal Scottish Society of Arts" is held on deposit at the National Library of Scotland. Until recently it was folded and tightly packed into a small tin box but now has been conserved by the NLS and photographs taken. The handwriting is not very readable, and the text is entirely in Latin so we present here:

• Photographic images of the Charter
• Transcription of the text of the Charter (still in Latin)
• The Royal Warrant for Charter of Incorporation (the English language instruction for the Charter to be issued)
